Town Manager Josh Kelly said on Aug. 23 he is leaving for a non-profit job in eastern Connecticut in 60 days. At press time, Kelly said he was not authorized to elaborate on the new job.

Mayor Todd Arcelaschi called Kelly the “right person at the right time.”

Arcelaschi said former Town Manager Robert Geiger would serve as interim town manager. Kelly began his service with the town in April 2021. Before that, he was town administrator in Bolton.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with minors in Sociology and Public Policy from Wheaton College, MA in 2017 and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Connecticut in 2019. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association, the Connecticut Town and City Management Association, and the Connecticut Council of Small Towns Board of Directors.
